Last weekend I got back from 7 days in Honduras, on a mission trip. It was amazing. My life will never be the same. It was shocking to see the way they live. But yet, they are happy, joyful and the kindest people I've ever met. This picture is Los Bordos, a slums area.
We visited an orphanage, a hospital, a girls home, homeless shelter, public school, mens rehab center, and Los Bordos. On Wednesday we took a rest day at a beautiful resort. The beach was absolutely beautiful. I needed this day of rest, I didn't think my heart could take anymore of the heartbreak.

Every single place we visited touched me in some way. At the orphanage, of course it was the precious babies.

This little boy stole my heart. He had been abused by his dad and had already had 2 surgeries. He was maybe 1 1/2-2 years old. When I held him, he just melted into me. Oh, I could not stop crying. I never could get him to smile either, his eyes spoke so much- it's like he was just empty. Absolutely broke my heart. The orphanage was definitely the hardest part of the trip for me. I had to get out of there after awhile, I just couldn't take it.
And I have so many stories like this. I'm so glad I went. So glad I got to love on them and tell them their Father in heaven loves them more than they can imagine.
I left a piece of my heart there, and I can't wait to go back.

At the Girl's home
                                                       Braiding Maria Magdelena's hair.

Precious ladies at the homeless shelter. The boy on the right is 4 years old and has water on his brain. He's not expected to live much longer, because the doctor's have no way to treat him. So sad.
Plane ride home, with Ruth. I cried the whole flight. We are so blessed!
