Me vs. Treadmill- Man vs. Food

Had a great 3 mile run on the treadmill tonight. I could've ran outside, but the thought of a fan blowing on me and being able to watch tv, kept me inside tonight!
I'm still pushing myself- and tonite got my best time ever!
Now, for the other part...I don't know why I decided to watch Man vs Food, but I did. I have seen it before, but not the whole thing. This time I watched the whole show. I don't know if running, while watching this guy gorge himself so much that he's physically uncomfortable and sweating, had anything to do with it, but I almost threw up! I know people will think "lighten up, it's just a show", but I think it's disgusting and gluttonous.

Next time I'll stick to some good tv...like Jersey Shore.
(Totally kidding!!)

What do you think about Man vs Food? Am I overreacting?

  4. I have never seen Man vs. Food, but I think people over-eating is revolting!! I once had a guest eat so much that he couldn't sit down. He just stood in the doorway panting and groaning. I was supposed to be flattered that my cooking was so good, but I was horrified!!
I spent several years of my life as an over-indulgent, gluttonous person and it was a life-changing decision to change. I don't find pleasure whatsoever in watching people abuse their bodies!!

  5. Wow, that's just crazy that he would stuff himself so much, that he couldn't even enjoy it!
I spent several years like that too though. I understand, and I know the addiction. It's not always been easy, but I'm glad to be on the other side of that, and I'm never going back!

  6. I watch that show with a mixture of horror and awe. Actually, in the beginning of the show when he is showing of yummy bbq dishes and such, the hubs and I think about all the ways we can cook things up great at the house (and once he was local and we plotted our menu plan of attack based on what he was showing) but then it was the stuff-your-face segement and I agree. It's awful. I watch it like it's a horror movie with my fingers covering my eyes. I absolutely want to barf when he gets all sweaty. Ugh. It's making me nauseous thinking about it. But, sure thing, next time DH puts it on the television, I'm sure I'll get sucked right in. Food network does that to me. Oh well.

    1. I know, Jess. I LOVE the Food Network too. I love cooking, so I like to get new ideas and recipes from them! But that show really makes me want to throw up too. I've heard that in the beginning it wasn't that way though, too bad he changed.
