Congrats to the Sweat Pink shoelace winners!

Today I ran the Doug's Run 10k! It was a chilly morning, but it was perfect!
My time was 1:11. A little slower than I wanted, but the race was at the hilliest park in Louisville! It was cuhrazzeee! It was a little strange because they had no 'official' starting line. After parking, you walked about 1/2 mile to the start (which was weird), and then there was just a little sign on the side of the road that said "start". I got there a few minutes early, but no one else was there. Apparently you could just start running when you see the sign! It was a small race, maybe 75 runners, if that.
After that I ran 5 more miles, so I could get in 11 for my long run today.
I skipped the hills for the last 5, and ran along this beautiful path!
Then I get back to my car....and I discover I'm locked out!! I had taken the key with me, but not the keychain that unlocks the car! It's my hunny's car, and I just assumed the key was all I needed. Who knew your car key wouldn't unlock your car doors? Not me!
So, I called my Knight in Shining Armor to come rescue me. Which he did.
Not my happy face!

It was definitely cold, while I waited! He was about 40 minutes away.
But then I came home and had some hot coffee, a hot shower and used this wonderful invention:

Did anyone else race or run today?

  1. Great job on 11 total miles!

I think I'd like to try out a smaller race one day and see what it's like. I LOVE the atmosphere of the big ones and the crowd support though!

    1. I do like both small and big races. The crowd support of the big ones are SO nice though. There was not one spectator or anyone cheering. I did miss that!

  6. I finally did a small run/walk! Not too bad, a little pain but I did it! I got a foam roller too but I have no idea how to use it.....what do you do? I got it because so many people said it would help after a run but I never thought to ask how to use it HAHAHA

  8. Even your "not happy" face is super cute! How did they time the race if everyone just started whenever they arrived? I've never seen a race like that before.

    1. Lol, thank you! Well, the timer was at the finish line, and our bibs were chipped. But they have no idea when you actually started the race! I guess they just assumed everyone started at exactly 9 am. I don't know, it was very strange! But now I'm thinking my time was probably better than 1:11.

  9. Great race. love racing. I can;t wait to get this baby out of my belly so I can get on to some marathons. My last 10 K time was 1:12 and I was mad at how slow I thought I was but I was 14 weeks pregnant and it was uphill like the whole time. I never look at the course map. I'm so bad about that. I put up your button tonight:)

    1. I never look at the course map either! I guess part of me just doesn't want to know how hilly it is. Just surprise me! Lol!
I just added your blog too! Thanks, girl!
