Juice Fast Day #9 Hardest Day Yet!

Well, today is Day 9- and it has been horrible!! I feel the same as I do every day. I'm not hungry and feel as energetic as always. But the craving to eat has been overwhelming! I don't know why today should be any different than any other day, but it is!

Also for the first time I am doubting myself. Doubting that I can really do this for 21 days. Maybe I bit off more than I can chew (haha). Maybe I should've started out at 10 days, or something more attainable.

What I want to do is just add in whole grains, nuts and beans. No meat, dairy or sugar. (I guess like the Vegan diet) I want to do that for the remaining 12 days. I might love that so much, that I permanently eat that way. I would love that!!
Oh, I would have to fit icecream/froyo in there somehow. ;)

But, I'm so torn. I've already said 21 days. Would I be a failure if I quit early? How many people would say "I told you so". What if it starts getting easier tomorrow, and I quit a day too early?

That's everything that's going through my mind right now.

  1. You have to do whats best for you and not worry about what anyone else thinks!! I have been amazed by how well you have done. Not sure I could even attempt what you have accomplished thus far!!!

  2. Bottom line if it doesn't feel right to your body you should stop. It's totally up to you but don't feel pressured to continue/stop because what others say. If you decide to quit then hey you gave it a shot!

  3. I don't know. Part of me says to relate to a marathon and just keep pushing forward. That this is the hard part and it WILL get easier. But then again, I've never tried something like this so do what you think is right for you. Not what anyone else thinks! :)

    1. I love the idea of looking at it in that way. I hadn't thought of it like that!

  5. Listen to your body! Our bodies need a balance of the plethora of naturally nutritious "good stuff." Don't feel like a failure if you give in to what your body is calling you to do. Such is life, filled with both planned and unexpected redirects!

  6. I thought a juice fast consisted of juice only for 8 days? 3 days to come off of it ANd then a 75% raw diet for the remainder of the 21 days? I am confused! haha check this link out: http://www.doctoryourself.com/juicefast.html

    1. You can do a juice fast for however long you decide. Some people do 3-5 days, others 21, I've even heard of some doing a 60 day juice fast! I'll check out your link!

  7. Listen to your body!!!! Its sending you those signals for a reason...perhaps....its craving a balance! Nobody can fault you for listening to your body! I think it is so key in life to listen and be in tune with what your body is craving.....and identifying and ignoring the *lies* that we so easily listen to, craving unhealthy choices. But listen when it is strongly desiring healthy choices!

  8. listen to your body, you know how to tell the difference between pain and injury. If you feel like you are harming yourself, then certainly end it and be amazed you made it 9 days!! YAY!
But.....if it's just tough, but not harming/injuring you--- you are at mile 19 of your marathon-- and you CAN DO THIS!!
Either way- you're freaking amazing! :)

  9. I could pretty much just say DITTO to what everyone has said. Listen to your body. Don't feel pressured by what others will think. But, I really agree with Curly Pink Runner. If it's just a mental block, then keep pushing forward! :)

  13. I would listen to your body girl! No one will think you are a failure. YOu have made it a lot longer than I would have. Doing a vegan diet the rest of the time would be a great way to end it out. You need to slowly reintroduce food though so that you don't shock your system!
