My 5 Things Friday!

Hello friends!

Is anyone else glad it's Friday? I AM! It has been one of those weeks that I'm glad to see end! Of course I'm still missing being on my Bahamas Cruise!! But, life goes on...

My girl Ali, over at Running with Spatulas, did a 5 Things Friday post, and I think it's a lovely idea, so I'm going to do the same today. Here are mine from the week!

1. I made a deelish Spinach Strawberry salad with an orange-honey dressing. Simply fabulous!!

2. My first pair of Pro Compression socks! I am SO excited, I've wanted a pair of these for so long! I plan on wearing them tomorrow for my 15 mile run!

3. My new shoes. I'm trying to rush Spring, so I can wear these! You can tell me that you think their ugly, it won't hurt my feelings! But I think they're HOT!
4. My amazing brother through-hiked the WHOLE Appalachian Trail last year! Over 2,000 miles. I am so stinkin proud of him! Now that he's home, everyone wants him to share his journey (schools, library community, Boy Scouts). We got to hear the story again last night. It never gets old!
Yes, that is him on top of the mountain!
5. I miss this beautiful place!
And, that's all folks!
What are your 5 Things?
Is anyone else doing a long run tomorrow?

  4. Your brother must have an AMAZING story! How cool!!

I'm running 18 tomorrow that'll be chunked into 3 parts (I like breaking up the long runs in my head like that :) First 4 on road, 10 on trail and last 4 back on road :)

  5. The strawberry salad looks and sounds delish! Also, Kudos to your brother! What a wonderful achievement. This week is supposedly a recovery week in our distance training program (next week starts the "meat" of the program) so we are running only 7 miles. That kind of makes me nervous since I'm so used to running 9-10. Oh well, I'm sure the experts know a lot more than I do. Ha! Good luck on your 18 miler!

    1. Oh, wow! They were awesome during my 15 miler yesterday. I'm pretty sure I could get addicted too. They are expensive, I got these on sale for $30, normally $50! I just could never bring myself to pay that much for them!

  11. Fun post! I LOVE LOVE LOVE your new shoes. Spring is lack luster for me, since I can't buy too many new clothes. Oh well.

I also got those same socks. I think you'll love them.

Tell me how I can get into mixing fruit into my salads. So far, I just can't seem to get into it!

  16. That salad made my mouth water and wish I'd made that for my lunch today instead of the barely-pass as salad I did prepare. :(

What is through-hiking? Whatever it is, how awesome for your brother!

I was supposed to go for a longish run on Saturday, but I opted to stay in and watch movies all day instead. Much better to wait until there's 20mph winds to battle on Sunday. LOL.
