Blogs Jean Likes, Fitness Magazine Giveaway and 17 Miles!!

Happy Monday, my sweet friends!

Did y'all have a good weekend? Mine was fabulous! Although I did lose an hour of sleep, thanks to the time change. But I'm loving the day light lasting longer in the evenings!

Today I am featured on Jean's blog What Jean Likes! I am also hosting a giveaway there for a year's subscription to Fitness Magazine. That is one of my favorites magazine's, so I wanted to give someone else the opportunity to read it as well.
I've loved getting to know Jean better through her blog, she is such a sweet girl. She also lives in Hawaii, my dream place to live. I live vicariously through her and her gorgeous pictures! She also host's a blog hop every Friday, which is a lot of fun. Make sure you check it out!

Saturday was a beautiful, sunny day and I ran 17 miles! A few days ago I was whining wishing that I had a running buddy.  Well, it just so happened that my girl Vivian, needed to run 10 miles, and we were able to run together on Saturday!
It was SO much fun!! Those 10 miles flew by faster than ever! It was so wonderful to be able to chat, laugh and just forget about the miles as we ran.
We also ran a path that neither of us had ran before, and it had some major hills, which was great!
You can't tell from the pic, but this felt like a mountain! The path curved around and went all the way up.

It was a perfect run! And I got several compliments on my socks too!

Tell me something fun you did this weekend!

  2. Well done! I ran a 5k on Saturday, which was a little disappointing, but then I had a good long run of 12 miles on Sunday and remembered that my body has shifted t distance running, so I felt better.

  4. Great run! I'm so glad you had a buddy to do it with!
This weekend was fridge shopping.... NOT fun. BUT I did get a great 11+miler in on Saturday morning in a more "hilly" area around us (in pancake FL). Ran with one of the guys that I know is slightly faster than me, which made me push my pace - I felt fantastic!

    1. You know, I didn't feel any different at all. Today has been 1 week, and I've lost 2 lbs., but I don't feel any different. Do you think I should?

  9. You're socks are awesome, I almost bought them too, but am trying to save up for the marathon. So glad that you had a buddy this weekend. It is so nice to have someone to talk to while you run. I just relaxed all weekend and it was great.

    1. Love that kind of weekend! I do wish these socks weren't so expensive. I did get them for $30, instead of $50, but it's still hard spending that kind of money on socks!

  15. Those are fun socks! So glad you found a running buddy - at least for this one run. :) How fun!!

I went to a Vegas show, NASCAR, and even got to see my brother who just happened to be in town. It was a pretty great weekend - even though I didn't do one lick of running.
