Hair extensions and a few other things...

It's Friday!!!
It's really, really cold. I am not happy about that at all! But, let's talk about something more pleasant, shall we?
Here are my 5 Things Friday!

1. I had a great spin class tonight! I went with my friend, Melissa, which always makes things more fun!!

2. Do you remember this amazing Red Velvet Cheesecake that my twinnie made? Well, she has done it again!! Here is her newest creation.

She made the cake for my sister's baby shower. It's a raspberry fudge truffle with fondant like you've never tasted. I'm telling you, there are just no words.... I'm so proud of my twinnie. She has found her calling and made her dream come true!!

3. I got hair extensions!! They are so much fun. I love having long hair again!

4. I won 2 giveaways this week! Woot woot! I won some protein shakes and bars from Melanie, at Happy Being Healthy and Premier Protein. And some Lock Laces from my girl Amanda, at TooTallFritz. I can't wait to try them out!

5. This is going to be my new wake up time.
It's only an hour earlier than usual, but I know it will FEEL much earlier! My reason for this? My weekly marathon training runs are not happening! Would you believe I have not ran since my 10 last Saturday?? That is NOT the way it's supposed to be! I just don't have enough hours in my day to get it in, and my evenings have been so busy, that my running gets left behind- and I HATE it! So, early mornings it is! I keep telling myself it'll be worth it, it'll get easier, blah blah.

Saturday I will be running 20 miles! I think I will have to find a new route though, because I don't think I can run 20 miles around the same .75 mile loop. I just can't do it.

What are your plans for the weekend?

Don't you wish my twinnie was your twinnie, so you could taste all this deliciousness??

  1. I used to do cake decorating and baking but it was too much work with a FT job, running and trying to give my husband attention so I am so excited for her to be able to follow that dream and she is obviously very good at it!!! So awesome!

This weekend I have my first half since my not so great first ever half I just wish it was not so freaking cold!!!! LOVING the hair!!!!!

    1. I know cake decorating does take a lot of time. At least you still know how to do it, so can do it when you want to! I can't wait to hear about your half!! I hate that you had to deal with the cold though. :(

    1. Thank you, Z! I have NO idea how she makes it, none of it is store bought, it's all homemade!

  3. I LOVE your hair!!! So cute!!! And I very much dislike running in circles. When I need a lengthy run, for instance if I need 8 miles, I will run out 4 and back, that way I don't have to figure out a route to take! Hope you get in your 20!

    1. Thanks, girl! I think running out and back is a great idea, but I just can't do that from my house. And I don't really like running on the main road with a ton of cars going by! I did get in my 20!

  4. You will get there! I def. had some weeks where I missed my training runs in the middle of the week. I posted all about my training each week on my blog http://livefreeandrun.blogspot.com/. For your 20 miler, go run somewhere with a lot of distraction. I ran right through downtown DC and there was so much to look at, it flew right by! Good luck! you will rock the marathon!

  12. That cake looks AMAZING!
Love your hair. The extensions look great!
'Early' is relative, dont ya think? =) I have friends who meet up to run at 5am and that is just outRAGEous to me!! I get up around 5:45 each day so to get up at 4:30ish to meet up for a run just sounds SO early to me, but once you've been doing it for awhile I suppose it becomes normal. I'm sure your 6am will be the same way =) I'm running 19 myself next weekend! Hope your run is awesome!

  13. Your extensions look great and that cake looks to-die-for! I'm with you on the early morning running. If I don't do it then, I know I won't do it. :( But it requires a 5AM wake-up for me.

Hope you found a good route for your 20-miler. I could never do a .75-mile loop enough times to get to 10 miles let alone 20! Yikes. :)
