Well, the Color me Rad didn't happen on Saturday. It was COLD and snowing! So we decided to transfer to the July race instead. Here are a couple pics from the Color Run last year.
See, it's much more fun when it's warm outside! I'm glad we decided to postpone it!
But THIS did happen!!
Red Velvet Cheesecake! I can't even put into words how amazing this is! My friend, Abby said it's like cake and cheesecake got together and had a delicious baby. That's exactly it! My twin sister made it. She bakes desserts for a restaurant here in town, I'm telling you, her desserts are to die for! Yes, she's taking orders. :)
After eating a slice of that, I was so glad I had a 16 mile run on schedule! I decided to do it on the treadmill. I'd rather do it there, then turn into an icicle outside!
I ended up just doing 13 because I ran out of time. But it went great! I had heard so much about the show Downton Abbey, so I decided to watch a couple episodes while I was running, to see what the fuss was all about! Well, I think that it the boringest (is that a word?) show ever! I had a hard time keeping up with it, and could hardly understand them because of their super thick accents. Maybe it just starts out slow? I don't know, but I don't think I'll be watching anymore of it!
Are you a Downton Abbey fan?
Would you like to order a cheesecake? :)
Tell me about your run this weekend!

It does start slow! I tried to watch it once and failed, but on my second try, I loved it. The same thing happened to me with 30 Rock.
ReplyDeleteAnd your twin is awesome. Keep her!
Maybe I need to give it another chance then. Yep, I'll definitely be keeping her! :
DeleteI have been interested in checking it out as I LOVE British TV but I would not expect it to be a treadmill type of show!! Stinks about your Color Run...I have on in Philly in June and again here in NY in July so EXCITED, last year was so fun!
ReplyDeleteMaybe that's it, it's just not a treadmill show! That's probably more of a sit down and really concentrate and listen kinda show. How cool that you have 2 color runs this year!! They're a blast!
DeleteDownton Abbey does start slow, but I got hooked pretty quickly! I love shows that take place in history and I also love British accents so that probably helps :P
ReplyDeleteYea, I'm sure that does help! Maybe I just need to give it another chance.
DeleteI LOVE me some Downton Abbey! Seriously! It's slow at first, but it gets SO much better! ADDICTING!
ReplyDeleteI would love to order a cheesecake! That thing looks AMAZING! I'm pretty sure I gained 4 pounds by looking at it!
And I sadly didn't get a run in this weekend :( I ran 10 miles earlier in the week, so I took the weekend off and went for a water aerobics class! It was AWESOME!
Do you really?? Ok, maybe I need to try again! And maybe not as I'm running on the treadmill next time.
Delete10 miles is awesome, girl! I want to hear about your water aerobics! Isn't that just for old people? Heehee ;)
I wish I could take a photo and show you my face when I saw that RED VELVET CHEESE CAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG I must have this.......tell that sis of your to share the wealth and post that recipe!!!! please :)
ReplyDeleteNice run lady and just an FYI - I love that you postponed the race until a warmer month....I wish I had that option for my race in 3 weeks :P lol
Lol, I can only imagine! Ok, I will try to get that recipe and post it!!
DeleteI know you're in Canada, but hopefully in 3 weeks it'll be a little bit warmer for your race!
I've never watched Downtown Abbey! I'd totally order a cheesecake if it didn't require shipping. Had a super fun and great 10.5 on Saturday morning. :)
ReplyDeleteThat's good, I thought I was the only one who had never watched it! Yea, I'm not sure how well it would do being shipped! Congrats on the 10.5, that's awesome!!
DeleteOoohhh my, that red velvet cheesecake looks like pure heaven on a plate. YUM.
ReplyDeleteHow do you run that long on a treadmill without dying? I'm really curious, I hate the treadmill...but hate freezing or sweltering more.
Believe me, it was totally heaven! It's honestly not bad at all on the tm. It did take some getting used to, but now I don't mind it. Of course I will ALWAYS rather run outside, but I'm like you, I hate being cold or burning up! I try to find a show or movie that will last a couple hours, that way I can get into it and forget that I'm even running! :)
DeleteRed velvet cheesecake sounds exactly like what I need today! : )
ReplyDeleteI think I could eat it every single day and be happy. :)
DeleteThat cake looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteIt was, believe me!!
DeleteOh, wow, that cake looks amazing!! Great job on your long run. I really liked the first two seasons of Downton Abbey, but am losing interest now.
ReplyDeleteIt was crazy amazing! Several people have said it takes a little while to get into it, so that's interesting that you were into it, and aren't as much now! I think I'll just have to find another show to watch during these long runs!
DeleteBetween you and that amazing cheesecake/redvelvet love child and my carrot cake cupcake as big as your head it is a good thing we each had to run 16 miles. So yummy and worth it though. Wonder if your sis could get one to Charleston? Wish she could.
ReplyDeleteOh, I know it!! Your carrot cupcake looked insane too! Def worth it! Hmmm...I'm sure she could!
DeleteOH MY STARS! That red velvet cheesecake looks AMAZING! I adore cheesecake and red velvet, and I'm sure that combo is to die for. It's a good thing I can't reach through the screen because I would probably inhale the whole thing!! :)
ReplyDeleteOMG, Elizabeth. I wish I could tell you how amazing it was!!! Hope you didn't ruin your computer by drooling all over it! ;)
DeleteThe red velvet cake looks amazing(if only I could get a bite)...it's great you balanced out your cake slice with a long run :)
ReplyDeleteIt was totally deelish! It was nice eating it guilt free! :)
DeleteI've never watched Downton Abbey, so I've got no opinion on it. :) That cake looks so amazing!! Nice job burning it off with a solid 13 mile run. I ran 9.6 miles this past weekend and just about died. It was so damn windy!! I did get a sunburn, too, though, so at least it was warm. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm jealous of your warm weather! Don't know how you ran in that wind, I'm sure it made that 9.6 feel a lot longer!
DeleteThank you all for the sweet comments on my cake! I will give Katie the recipe to post. Believe it or not, it was made with a Duncan Hines cake mix!
ReplyDeleteI love Downtown Abbey but you do have to give it a few episodes. Red Velvet Cheesecake is so delicious. That one looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteMaybe I just need to give it more time then! It was amazingly good! :)
