3 Things Thursday and Huma Energy Gel Review!

Hello friends!!

  Welcome to 3 Things Thursday!

1. Just because I know you're wondering... only 9 days until my first marathon!!

Up until recently I was so nervous, but now I'm just excited! It's a great course for first timers, mostly flat, and the weather is supposed to be cloudy and 53. (I know that could change) I think this weekend I'm going to buy a new running outfit. I'm tired of my few running clothes and think this calls for something new!

 2. My girl, Gina, recently did a review on Huma Energy Gels, and said that Ian, one of the founders, was looking for someone else to review them and would I be interested. YES! I had heard so much about them, so was very excited for the opportunity to try them.

He sent me a sample pack of Apples & Cinnamon and Strawberry. I took them with me on my 20 mile run and loved them! I love that they're all natural, healthy, no chemicals or preservatives. You can actually pronounce all of the ingredients. They base the gels on Chia Seeds, to bring you a superfood burst of nutrients! So you might think with all the healthy stuff, they might not taste very good...but they do! They have great texture and the flavor is not too sweet or 'cough syrupy' at all. You should try them! Go here to order, like them on Facebook, or follow them on Twitter!

3. Today is day #4 on Weight Watchers, and it's going great! We've been having lovely weather, I had an awesome 5 mile run Monday night, and then took a spin class Tuesday night. I plan on going to spin again tonight. I just love spin class! Something about dripping sweat and that feeling of exhaustion is SO exhilarating! I am so thankful for the ability to exercise! (I know that sounds weird, but it really is addicting!)
My daycare babies and me enjoying the gorgeous weather!
QOTD: Have you tried Huma Gel?
What's your weather like? I know a lot of places in the East are getting snowstorms!

Yay! Only 9 more days! Make sure you test out that new outfit before you wear it to the race, lol. We don't want you to be covered in chafe marks!

  6. Wow. Only 9 days is awesome.
I am so glad your course is flat. I am starting to freak a bit about all my hills.

Oh, also, your daycare babies are too cute.

    1. If mine had as many hills as yours, I'd be a little scared too. But you'll do awesome, Abby! No doubt about it!

  8. I am so going to try the gels. I hate gu; it's so slimy!! I have to find something for my marathon in October that doesn't make me gag and is easy to carry. Their "store locator" link doesn't actually take you to a store locator! Hopefully, I can get it locally but if not, I'll have to order some.
Good luck on your marathon!! There is nothing else like crossing that finish line!

    1. You would totally love these gels, Lorenda. No, the link doesn't take you to an actual store, but if you put in your town and state, it'll show you which stores near you carry it. Or you can buy it on their website too. Definitely worth it! Thank you!!

  9. Hey Lorenda,

I just checked our link and it seems to be working for me. Is this the link you clicked on?

  10. We hit the 90s twice this week. It's bizarre. I'm certainly not complaining though. I feel like I've been wearing my heavy winter coat for the last six months! I can't believe your in single day countdown until the marathon, woohoo :)

I love spin after I've completed it. During spin class I hate myself, spin, the instructor, haha, but I love how I feel afterward and am so glad I did it!

    1. 90's- wow! I agree, I've been wearing my winter clothes way too long!
I know what you mean about hating everybody and everything during spin! Lol! I hate it and love it at the same time!

  13. The fuels I've tried are quite small! Just Gu, PowerGel and Clif Shotbloks (did NOT care for these-too gummy) The Huma ones like great!
It was a high of 55* here in Nebraska today (30* for my run at 7am though around 45* at the end), but it looks like we are going to have a 39* day next week! WHERE is Spring??
