It's Just Another Manic Monday...

                                                    I wish it was Sunday,
                                                   cause that's my Funday
My I don't have to Runday
                                              It's just another Manic Monday.

I hope you all had a fabulous weekend! Mine was insanely busy! Saturday I had planned on running 21 miles, but only did 15.
Why 15 instead of 21? I don't know! No good reason.
I only have 2 weeks until my marathon, so I will do at least 21 next Saturday- although I'm supposed to taper then. I know I'll feel more comfortable if i can at least get in another 20 miler!

After my run we went to pick up this cute little thing!

Isn't he the cutest thing ever? He's a Yorkie, 5 weeks old, and we've named him Charley! We've never had a puppy before, although we did have a full grown dog last year, but he just wasn't a right fit for our family, so we gave him to some friends of ours. But we just love little Charley!

Remember when I was asking for some advice on whether I should join Weight Watchers? I decided to do it! Today is Day 1. I'm really excited about it, and ready to get rid of this last 30 lbs.!

Tell me something you did this weekend!

  1. be careful running such long distances so close to your race!!!! an injury at this point would be awful and im sure your body would appreciate a taper ;) what a cute puppy- enjoy!

    1. I think that's really good advice, I agree an injury right now would be awful!!

  2. Please taper next weekend - at this point the rest will be much much more beneficial for your body - you need more than one week to recover from a 20 miler and you might get injured. You are going to ROCK this race!!!

    1. But Jen, I've only done one 20 miler! Will I be ready for a full? I'm so mad at myself for not just doing the 21 like I'd planned on Saturday!

  3. Congrats on the puppy!

And I have to ditto the two peeps saying it might be better to taper, at least for your first :)

  5. Congrats on joining Weight Watchers! If it works for you, I might join so that I can lose my last 15 pounds! They have been the hardest to lose so far! So frustrating! And awesome run!!! SO proud of you!

  6. Oh how precious!! I have to agree with some of the other comments - 20 miles just 2 weeks out might hurt more than benefit. Keep to your plan and taper with the mileage it has listed :)

    1. It would actually be 1 week out! Since I've only completed 1 20 miler, I'm scared I wouldn't be ready for the race! But it probably is a good idea to go ahead and taper anyway...

  8. Oh my goodness! Your puppy is adorable! I have a long coated chihuahua and he looked just like that when we brought him home 8 years ago. You know, I was just looking over my training on Garmin connect and it seems as though the weeks that I misses a few miles or days because of illness or schedule are the weeks that my long runs were awesome. I don't think you need to run 26 miles prior to your race. You'll do great! I can't wait to hear all about your experience. My first is this October (Marine Corps) and I don't know what to expect. You inspire me!

Where are you going to lose 30 pounds from? It doesn't look like you need it at all, but whatever makes you happy I say good luck and go for!
