Will the Cravings Ever End?? And Spirit of the Marathon II

Hello!

Last night I went to see Spirit of the Marathon II. As soon as I heard that it was going to be showing one night only, I knew I was going!
I had only virtually met Julie, and thought this would be the perfect opportunity to meet in person and get to know her better! Knowing she's a runner and would probably enjoy the movie too, I invited her along!
We had a wonderful time! The movie was soooo good. It was very inspirational and made me so proud to be a runner and a part of this amazing community!

For some crazy reason, this is the first thing I thought of when I woke up this morning.
Isn't that terrible?! And then I thought of this. My favorite ice cream in the world.

I wish I could say that I never crave this junk, I only want healthy foods like kale and quinoa. But, that would be a lie and I want to be totally real here!
I wish I could wake up someday and NOT crave ice cream. But I have a feeling this addiction will never go away, it will always be a struggle.
Then I remembered my 'goal' picture. This is how I want to look.
No matter how much I run, I can't look like this if I eat those doughnuts and ice cream.
So, I'm going to stay strong. Try to make myself believe that junk is not worth it!

What do you crave?
Did you see SOTM II?

  2. I didn't get to see the movie because I had to work until 8 :-(. I had actually been comp'ed 4 passes so I gave those to my running buddies. They said it was great! What do I crave? Fruit, frozen yogurt, candy, and Starbucks. I think I have issues.

  4. I am happy you got to see the movie! I really liked the first one!

The lady in that pic looks seriously photoshopped. Look at her right bicep. It barely exists. You wouldn't ever be able to eat donuts if you wanted to look like her. I would rather have treats from time to time. I hate that feeling to eat bad stuff ALL the time though. Where's my balance?!

    1. Ya know, her arms do look pretty skinny and weird looking. Her abs are hot though! I agree, it has to be about balance and not depriving yourself. I'm with you though- where's the balance? Since I don't know, I just stay away from it. :(

  5. I really want to see the movie but don't know if it will come to NZ. I totally crave ice cream too... But my cravings for it aren't so bad in the winter, I can take it or leave it then unless it is with a hot pudding... Eek!

    1. They say it'll be on dvd by the end of the year. I can't wait to see it again! Congrats on finishing Whole30! When I did a 30 day detox, my cravings were gone after a few days too. Maybe I need to do another one!

  7. I really wanted to see the movie, but it didn't work out with my schedule and having to travel over an hour to a theater where it was playing. I'll just have to wait until I can buy it on DVD! And I am a HUGE chocolate and ice cream craver. I don't think I can ever really give the two things up... I know that it only hinders my progress, but it is so, so delicious. I wish food didn't have such a hold over me! BOO!

    1. I feel the same way, I hate the hold that food has on me! It has definitely gotten a lot easier, some days are just worse than others!

  9. I enjoyed it but I liked the first one more. The stories were good but I kept missing things because of having to read the captions or I'd be looking at what was going on then miss the captions so I didn't know what they said. I am getting more excited to begin training for Chicago. I got tears in my eyes when they showed them all crossing the finish line! I cannot wait to cross the finish line again!! There is just something about crossing the finish line of a marathon!
The things I crave are ice cream, popcorn, and Red Vines. I know, who craves Red Vines?? I have always loved those things. Popcorn isn't a bad thing but my problem is that I like to eat popcorn in very large quantities!

    1. I agree, crossing the marathon finish line was unlike anything I'd experienced before! I can't wait till you start training either!! Red Vines? At least you didn't say black licorice- then I would really have to question our friendship! ;)

  10. I was fortunate enough to watch the movie with Hal Higdon in Portage, IN! What a way to start my first week of training for Chicago and my first marathon too! I also like the first one better but Rome is beautiful. My craving is chocolate or peanut butter and especially both together. What do you do when the cravings hit?

    1. Wow!! What an honor that would be to watch it with Hal!! Hope you got a picture with him! Well thankfully, I don't have the stuff I crave in my house, if so, I don't know if I could resist. But on this day I ate some fruit- cantaloupe, strawberries and grapes. I LOVE fruit. So that did take away my craving...for a little while. :)

  13. I kind of come and go on my cravings. Mostly sweets, but also chips. My worst problem, though, is snacking because it's there. :-(
