I flew into Las Vegas on Thursday and met Clarinda.
My phone decided to die on me on the plane, so once I got to the airport I had no way to get a hold of her! Thankfully I had my charger with me, but I could not find a working outlet to plug it into. After about an hour of walking around, I found an outlet that worked and I was finally able to reach her. That poor girl had been circling the airport, trying to get a hold of me for over an hour. I think she put about 20 miles on her car!
Needless to say, I don't think I made a very good first impression on her. Hopefully buying her dinner helped! ;)
She lives just minutes away from the strip, so this afternoon we went walking around it. It was awesome! It's so neat seeing all these places in person, after only having seen them in pictures or movies.

It's going to be incredibly cold, most likely in the teens for the start of the race. It starts in Utah and is at a high elevation. Brrrr!
My goal for my Chicago Marathon was 5:00, and that didn't happen. So I would love to redeem myself in this race. It is all downhill, so just maybe that'll be possible! No matter what, we're gonna have a blast and I'm so glad to have a great friend to run 26.2 miles with!
