Cool in the pool

I am happy to report that our A/C is back! Living without it for one day, and the temps being in the 90's, reminded me of my trip to Honduras a couple years ago. They have no a/c there. We visited hospitals, schools, etc., and no air at all. It was just humid and hot all the time. You can see in my pics, everyone is just hot and sweaty, and that's the way they live. But that's all they know, so they're used to it. Anyway, I was very thankful to get it fixed, for only $30, instead of thousands.
The daycare kiddos and I did spend the day in my sister's pool though!

We celebrated Fathers Day Monday night. (This is all but one sister, who lives in WI.) My dad is one of the funniest people I know, and he had just said something and made us all laugh!
See the sister in the maroon top? She just found out she's pregnant with her first baby! She's been married 8 years, so it was a huge, happy surprise!
For this week's marathon training, I have 3 days to do 4 miles, and then my long run will be 10 miles.
I ran Monday morning around 10 a.m., and it was HOT and humid. (I'm not complaining though. After this horrid winter, I'll never complain about the heat!)

As you see, I only made it 3 slow miles. I thought I would pass out if I did anymore. The rest of my short runs this week will be on my treadmill. Fo sho.
Tomorrow afternoon I'm going out of town for the weekend, and won't be able to run. So I'll be waking up very early to get my 10 miles in!

How did you celebrate Fathers Day?
Anyone else running in the heat?

    1. Yep, just keep running! Sounds like you had a great Father's Day. And ice cream definitely makes ANY day better! ;)
Yes!! I was scared we'd have to replace the whole unit, costing thousands. But it was just a piece. Oh, and my brother in law fixed it, I think he gave me the family discount too. :)

  11. yay for AC being fixed! we don't really use the AC in Aus either. definitely some people do, but we never had it in any schools or my house so, i'm used to it and that's why I hate the AC haha. I'm a weirdo, I know.
