Happy running!

This weekend's long run was 8 miles. It feels so strange to only run 8 miles, but I'm following my plan.
Saturday's temp was nice and cool, it was a perfect day. I love the park where I do my long runs, it has the perfect mix of hills and flat paths. It's so beautiful!

As I was running I was thinking about how amazing the running community is. I would say 90% of runners I pass, wave or smile or say hi. I just love it! That's one thing I love about running, is the other runners. Just that small act of kindness cheers me up. Not to mention the amazing runner friends I've made! Starting to run a few years ago was one of the best decisions I've made.
Today my stepsons left for camp for a week. No fighting, yelling, attitudes, stress, for a whole week? I hope this week goes very, very slow. :)

This morning the a/c went out, and it's going to be 90 degrees. I think we'll spend the day at the pool!

Did you run this weekend?
If you have kiddos, do they go to camp?
I went every year as a teenager and loved it!

    1. Great job on your run! It turns out, the a/c just had something broken and it only cost $30 to replace. Yay!
Yes, teenage years are miserable. I've heard girls are worse though!

  4. I completely agree on the other runners thing. I've only been at it 6 months and I've got a long way to go but runners I know and the local run shop and everyone there are so welcoming and kind, not to mention the others I pass on runs around town. It's such a great community to be a part of!

  6. I'm sorry your A/C went out! I hope it ia able to be fixed quickly (and cheaply!) I love the running community too! I was running at a new-to-me park while we were visiting family last weekend and I was slowly chugging up a long hill, and another runner was coming the other direction toward me. I waved and he gave me a thumbs up, which really helped me get up that hill!

  7. Looks like a beautiful trail. And trust me, I know how you feel about the summer camp. My little guys are in their LAST week of summer camp. It has been glorious to have freedom from 9-1 every day...but alas, all good things must come to an end right?! Then I guess we'll be hitting the pool the rest of the summer!
