TWBT (Throw Way Back Thursday)

Well, still no running for this girl. And I think I just might go mad!
I did go for a 2 mile walk though. I'd never been to this park before, and the 2 mile trail is just grass. So I couldn't run here, but it's nice when all I can do is walk.

Along the trail they had weight machines set up, which was very interesting. I've never seen that before!
After the walk my fibula was sore, but not too bad.

I was hoping to do my 15 mile long run on Saturday, but have since found out I will be spending the day at Kings Island, so no long run for me.  I'm sure it's probably a good thing to rest it for a few more days. I sure don't like getting behind on my marathon training though!

Hanging out with these pretty girls was fun. Although I hated that I wasn't able to run off the margarita's I drank! Since using My Fitness Pal, I still keep track of everything I eat and drink. I haven't gone over my calories yet!
My beautiful little sister. She's 3 months pregnant with her first baby. She's the cutest thing ever!
So I know TBT (throw back Thursday) is big on IG, but I'm going to do it here. I was going through some pictures the other day and found this picture from probably 12 years ago.
I've struggled with weight my whole life, and I can remember this day like it was yesterday. I had never ever ever worn a 2 piece, and I remember finally being confidant enough to wear one for the very first time. I was on vacay in FL with a couple girlfriends, so I felt 'safe'.

Finding this picture just encouraged me that I can and will get back to that! Actually, even better than that, because then I was not exercising at all.
It's a daily struggle, but it's worth it. It will be worth it.
Looking at this picture makes it easier to say no to the ice cream that is constantly calling my name!
If you're trying to lose weight, what do you use as motivation?
I used to use pictures of celebrities or models. But these days I just use good ole Katie. I've done it before, I can do it again!

  1. I have my 'skinny' pics next to my bed too for motivation.
I also was 25 years young, which makes a difference... but its still me :)

  2. Katie, I think you look great in that picture!!!!

  3. I definitely used to look at celebrities and models, but unfortunately that was something I did when I was younger and very, very ill. Now I try and look at pictures from a couple of years ago, but more importantly I focus on being healthy and fit. I get way too caught up in being 'skinny' and its dangerous for me!

  4. Dinner with your friends looks like it was a lot of fun! And your grass trail looks like a great place to go for a walk. I personally like to switch up where I run/walk so I don't get too bored with the same route. Variety is the spice of life. :) I'm not really trying to lose weight, but I am trying to clean up what I eat. I try to remind myself of how much I improved as a runner when I was really trying to eat a lot of healthy foods a couple of years ago and reading blogs of ladies who have similar goals really helps, too!

  5. I'd much rather exercise in a group or with a friend. They keep me accountable which helps when I want to stay fit and active.
