Weekly workouts and a yummy recipe

It seems like I just started my marathon training and I'm already in the 6th week! Time flies when you're having fun.

Monday: 3.1 mile run, Slim in 6 workout
Tuesday: Spin class, Slim in 6
Scary moment in spin class. There was a guy right next to me, and it was his first time spinning. Through the whole class I kept thinking this guy needs to slow down a little! He was a pretty big guy and was breathing real loud and grunting- I could tell he was having a hard time. But he did everything the instructor said, he was going hard! With about 15 minutes to go, he suddenly just crumples down! He didn't fall off the bike, because his feet were strapped in, he just fell down into the bike. (Ouch)
The instructor ran over and another guy beside him helped him up and he was ok. He didn't get back on the bike after that!
Wednesday: 5 mile run, Slim in 6
Thursday (today): Slim in 6

I know it's only been a week, but I can already tell a difference in my strength from doing SI6 everyday! My legs and arms have been pretty sore since Monday. But I love it!!

I have to share this delicious recipe I made a few days ago. If you remember, when we visited the Biltmore a couple weeks ago, we ate at Cafe 4 in Knoxville and I had maple pecan crusted salmon.
It was SO good, and I said I was going to find the recipe. Well, my mom found it for me and I made it. It was amazing!!
The recipe is here. The only thing I would do different is not cook it quite as long. It was a little drier than I like. But it was very good!

How are your workouts going this week?
Do you have a good recipe to share?

  1. Great job on the workouts! I had been going pretty good with getting back into running, was up to a few miles a day. But Monday I tore my hip flexor (I'm like a walking injury dart board these days:), so I haven't been doing much walking since. But recover is going nicely, I'm hoping I can be back to at least walking by next week!
Ouch on the guy in spin class, I hope that doesn't detour him from attending again:( Good thing he was okay and didn't fall off it!

    1. Another injury?? I don't think I've ever heard of anyone getting injured more than you! But I love how you still keep going! Glad you're recovering. I hope the spin class guy comes back too!

  2. Nice workouts! I can't believe you are already in week 6 either! I have a cutback week this week getting ready for a big weekend. That salmon looks great!

    1. I know, it's gone so fast!! Hope you had a good weekend!

  3. OMG, that poor guy!! I missed spinning this week...I knew I loved it but didn't realize how much until I had to miss it! The salmon looks amazing!

    1. I don't realize how much I love it until I miss it too! It is addicting!

  4. Great workouts! I feel bad for the poor spinning guy!!!! Hopefully he returns!
