MRI Results are in...

What a week!!

 I wanted to update y'all on my MRI results. I have a torn peroneal tendon.
I won't see the ortho Dr. until next Thursday, so that is all I know for now. I don't know how bad the tear is, or if I'll have to have surgery to repair it, or if it'll heal on it's own. I'm definitely hoping it'll heal without surgery.
It's only been 2.5 weeks since I've ran, but it seems so much longer!

 If the ortho says I can still run my marathon on the 20th, you better believe I'm going to. I don't care if I come in last place, I'm gonna do it (if he ok's it)!!

  3. Oh no, that is exactly one of my problems? It started out as Peroneal Tendinitis, but then when it got worse it ended up having minor tears, then mine lead into aggrivating my achillies and then I had the 2 tendon problems (joys).
    I still have some Peroneal Tendon problems, thats the only part I haven't been able to heal 100%, I just can't get the swelling to go completely away, but as long as I keep from standing on it for long periods of time, I hardly notice it. But it's healed enough (without surgery) to allow me to get back to running, as long as I am careful to run and not aggrivate it, my Dr's let me keep running too! Fortunately for me, I didn't injury mine running, it was from standing and wearing flat non supportive shoes.
    After your race if your still having problems, let me know I am happy to share everything they did for me, and made me do to help me heal mine!
    I'm really sorry your having to go through this, tendon problems are so painful and something I would never wish on anyone!!!! But if your Dr is letting you still run the race, then I think that is a very good sign that yours might not be too bad! I hope you can heal yours soon, much sooner than mine!!!!!!!!!!!!

    1. It is actually feeling so much better already. I guess not running really helps. I go to the dr tomorrow so am hoping he says I can start running again and no surgery! I really appreciate you sharing what you're going through with me and offering advice. I'll let you know. Thanks Kristy!
