Running under bridges

This weekend was the perfect weekend to run. Saturday was about 38 degrees and sunny. I started out with a couple layers and quickly took off one of them.
I ran 10 miles, and was actually in my car, leaving the park, when I saw these stairs. They were calling out for me to come and run them. I couldn't resist!
So, I parked and ran up and down these a couple times. I think I'm going to end every run this way from now on.
Am I the only one who sprints when running under a bridge? Maybe I'm just paranoid, but I always imagine the worst. :)
Friday night we celebrated my pretty Momma's birthday. She is so amazing. Someday I hope to be as wonderful a Mom as she is.
I don't love this race pic from last weeks 5k, but it's the first one I've seen in forever that's not hideous.
I was wearing as many layers as possible...it was freezing!!

Did you run this weekend?
Tell me I'm not the only one who runs fast under bridges?? ;)

  2. I did Rock n Roll Savannah this weekend and it was a really pretty day thank goodness! I hate bridges, going over or under on foot or in a car just makes me cringe so you're not alone!

  3. Your not the only one! We have this trail system along the river here, and when I run on it, you run under the over passes and along side the bridges which run under the road. Most of them are in good areas, but there is this one section that has a tunnel bridge and you just hope the lights are on inside it, but even though it's like 50 feet, I sprint each time because it creeps me out, creeps me out more if I run into someone in there in the dark:)
Your race pic is cute, much better than mine ever are! I think if I saw those stairs I would probably want to run up them a few times too:)

    2. It is very nice out there. Can't wait for it to be completed.

    3. Before they opened the new section, I would do all of my runs around the Egg Lawn. I once did 20 miles around that .75 of a mile circle. It was crazy.

    4. That is crazy. I usually run at Seneca or Cherokee. Don't make it out there to much.

    1. When it gets really cold, then I am not so tough at all! 35 degrees is about as low as I'll go. Any colder than that and I'll just run on my treadmill!

  9. I ran 10 miles Saturday too, but I didn't end with stairs! I was running under a bridge once on our local Greenbelt, and a person was laying in a sleeping bag. At first I thought it was a dead body, but then I saw the glow of his cell phone. It sooo creeped me out! I definitely sprint under bridges now, and keep my eyes straight ahead!

  13. Those stairs do look a little fun! I've never thought about it before, but no, I don't think I run any faster under bridges. LOL.
