Diet Bet, a new workout and other randoms

Happy Friday!

Here's a few random things from my week...

1. I had dinner with a friend at Longhorn Steakhouse this week, and had one of the best dishes I've ever had. Balsamic raspberry seared chicken. It has a white wine butter, goat cheese crumbles and a balsamic raspberry drizzle. I am now on a search to recreate this amazingness. The really good thing about it is that it's on the light menu!

2. Boots! I forgot that I had 2 credits from JustFab from a couple years ago. Thankfully I was still able to use them. (How could I forget that??) Boots are my favorite part of winter.
3. Last week I was sent a 90 day workout to review called Fe Fit. It's a workout 'for mom's', 30 minutes a day, 3 times a week.
 I've been doing it 4-5 days a week. The first few days seemed really easy, and I felt like I needed to do another workout just to work up a sweat. But I can tell as I get further into it, it's getting more challenging.

The only annoying thing is the leader keeps saying all this stuff about "mommy' and 'mom's'. It drives me crazy. Why does it have to be for mom's, why not just 'women'??

 I'll do it for the full 90 days and let you guys know how it goes! I can say, it's probably been 6 months since I've done any kind of strength training, so these sore muscles feel awesome!

4. As you know, one of my goals this year is to lose the 30 lbs. I gained last year. So far, I've lost 4- 26 to go!
I have joined Abby's DietBet to help me out. I've heard a lot about Diet Bet's, but never joined one. When she invited me to join hers, I thought it seemed like a great opportunity to stay motivated and win some cash! She's even giving away some cool prizes. Wanna join us? It starts on the 26th, and lasts for a month.

5. Tomorrow's long run is 15 miles! Lately my knees have been really hurting when I run. I have no idea what's going on with that. I'm just hoping I can do this pain free. Tomorrow the temp will be in the 50's and sunny, I can't wait!!

  1. That dinner looks amazing! I have a gift certificate for that restaurant that I have yet to use. I'm am STRUGGLING this week with diet. I mean I'm on point for the most part. But I've been feeling SO SO hungry. I definitely feel like last weekends 18 miler is giving me a serious mind trip. This weekend we "only" have 13 miles. I can feel my body needs that break. I've got two 20 milers between me and race day. If the hunger thing doesn't settle down a bit I know I'm going to have to just eat more calories and set aside the weight LOSS goals until after my marathon. I'll pop into maintenance mode instead. I WILL lose these last 10 lbs this year! Great job of 4lbs lost already! That's fantastic.

  2. I just ate at Longhorn Steakhouse yesterday on a business trip. I really like that restaurant and your meal sounds great. Nice looking boots. I am only intend on doing a 6 to 8 mile run on Saturday and a 5 mile run on Sunday. Good luck on your long run. Hope those knees do ok.

  5. I did Dietbet once... &lost. Boo. Good for you already loosing 4 lbs.
    oh my gosh. I think the same thing. They really limit their market by using "mom" as the title for people who want to work out.

  6. I didn't know Abby was running a dietbet - I love her and may join specifically because it is her's! I'm usually not a fan of the dietbet system (as a broke student, it probably has something to do with money) BUT it does motivate me! Those boots are awesome, and now I desperately want steak. I have a good 20 pounds to lose this year, but I'm trying to focus more on non-scale victories to motivate myself!

  7. Did a long run this weekend - 10 miles. Felt like nothing compared to my 20 miler last weekend.

  9. Love the boots, I wish I could say I own cute pairs of boots like that. But I don't:) I have one cute pair, but I tried them on the other day and I couldn't even get my leg into them, hence why I need to drop some serious weight!!!
    I have done DietBet's before, I did a lot the past few years. Last year I won close to $200 doing them, they are highly motivating, especially since I love my money and don't want to lose it:)
    Good luck with your dietbet and weightloss, I am not doing dietbet this time around. But I am finding a lot of competition daily going against my sisters, none of us wants to loose to the other in steps.. It's starting to get out of control, but in a totally fun way! Gone are the days of kicking back watching a TV show, if I am not working out or running in front of the TV then I am losing against them, LOL and that can't happen:) I am hoping as I add more and more of that, and begin to work on my calorie intake hopefully the weight will start dropping!

  10. Super cute boots! I'm terrible at sticking with workout dvd's...aka-I did 30 days of P90X and I have done Jillian Michael's 30 day shred video 2 times. You knee might be hurting if your shoes are a little worn out. You might check that. Good luck with the diet bet! I have never done one, but it sounds interesting. Happy Tuesday!

    1. Thanks Leslie! Well you stuck with P90X longer than I did! I think I made it a week.
      Good idea to check on my shoes. I think I've had them about 6 months, but it may be time to replace them.
