Long treadmill run and a new DietBet game

I got back to KY this weekend, and there is snow everywhere! I was not happy to see that. But I guess they did get about 10" here, so it's going to take awhile for that to melt.
 But hey, it's now March, that means it's almost Spring!

My long run this weekend was a 16 miler. It was freezing in TN, and I just don't run outside when it's that cold. So, off to the treadmill I went!
These are my MUST haves for long runs. Amanda got me hooked on sour gummies, they've gotten me through several marathons. The EFS sports drink is amazing. I used it for the first time when I was training for my 100 mile ultra, and fell in love. I will never use anything else for long runs. (It doesn't hurt my stomach like Gatorade does, and it gives me so much energy and endurance)

16 miles done, baby! The treadmill stops every hour (which drives me crazy, I mean, why??), so that's the reason for all the pics. I love running on the treadmill. I know, that's weird. I just watch tv, get in my zone and go!

My last day in TN was just spent relaxing, and enjoying the peace and quiet for the last time. Then that night I got to meet Meredith, an Instagram friend. Come to find out, last year we both ran the Carmel marathon (her first), and we finished within minutes of eachother. How crazy is that! We had a great time just hanging out and drinking sangria. Making a sweet, new friend was the perfect way to end my month long getaway.

I also ended the month with my most mileage ever! I've been running for a little over 3 years now, and I've never ran this many miles in a month. My goal for this month is at least 100 miles.
Last month I lost 8 lbs. on Abby's DietBet, and I didn't want my weight loss to stop, so Kristy, from Runaway Bridal Planner, and I are teaming up to start another one!
 It starts next Sunday, March 8. We would love for you guys to join us. The buy in is $20, and you will have 1 month to lose 4% of your weight. The winners will get their money back, plus we'll split the pot from those who didn't reach their goal. It was great motivation for me to keep going. I ended up making $40!

  1. You're a trooper to do 16 miles. I've done 11 max on the treadmill. There's a gym out of my way but if I have a long run to do I go there, because their treadmills stop every 90 minutes instead of every 60.

    1. Thanks Lesley! 11 on the treadmill is awesome! My tm at home stops every 90 too. Every 60 is just too often!

  2. NOTHING wrong with loving treadmill running. I love it too! I will for sure be joining the DietBet. I'm exciting to have something like that for right now. I am UP 3.5 lbs from last Monday! Stupid Marathons seriously mess with our bodies.

  3. I am always looking for normal foods to use for long runs - the gels mess my stomach up for WEEKS after...
    Look at your February! that's so amazing! Hope March is full of even more miles & health for you!

  4. I can't believe you made it 16 miles on the treadmill. That's amazing! Fueling correctly is my biggest running problem, I can never seem to get it right. I do like EFS, haven't had it in a while though.

  5. i really was intrigued with diet bet but ended up deciding not to, but i would definitely be more inclined because i know you rather than a stranger on the internet.. well, you know what i mean!
    my old gym had treadmills that stopped every hour, so annoying!! and yes seriously it hasn't snowed in like a week yet there is still snow EVERYWHERE.

  6. 16 on a treadmill, that is awesome!!! Although that is annoying the machine made you stop each hour. I bet the gym must have pre-set that or something, that is weird!

  7. Only 34 miles for me in February and you did half of that in one day!! I like the GU gel for runs. Good luck on your 100 mile goal.

  8. Wow I admire your ability to do your long runs on the treadmill. That is super! I'm in between half marathons (one last weekend and one this next weekend) so I did a 10k run Saturday. I participated in the #February100miles challenge and logged a total of 102.51 in February. :)

  9. Great job with your training this week, girl! You can definitely make 100 miles this month, I just know it. I hope things go well for you this week; I'll be thinking about you!   10. I only hit 85 miles in February. It's awesome you did 16 miles on the TM but it would annoy me to stop every hour. Congrats on 8 pounds lost in a month. That's fantastic. Winning money would be a wonderful motivator!

  12. I hate the pausing on the treadmill too - it's so frustrating because when you finally get a good rhythm going, it's this "whomp" of interruption to feel it start the automatic cool down! GRRR!
