One last look back, and an ice cream face

Happy New Year!

I decided for the new year, I needed a new look. Not for me, but for my blog.
I'd been thinking about it for awhile, and then as I was reading another blog, I loved the look of hers, so I contacted the girl who designed it, and she did mine!

Ahhh, 2015 is over. I love the freshness of a new year. A new start.
I can say 2015 was a much better year than 2014. I feel like I was at peace all year.
In 2014 I thought my life was over, my marriage was over, I had no reason to go on. I was hopeless, and had no joy. I thought I was strong, but found out I was incredibly weak.

At the beginning of 2015 I made a conscious decision to have joy. I could not have another year like the previous one. I gave all my burdens, worries and cares to God, the only one who could get me through, and He did.

I still don't have the answers, I still feel like my life is a huge unknown. I know most people my age have everything all planned out and they're settled. I'm not. But I'm learning to be ok with that, because He knows! It's a good thing I love adventure and spontaneity!

I leave you with this...because it's totally random, but way too cute not to share.
My hilarious nephew, Xavi. This was his face while eating ice cream. He sure takes after his Aunt KK!

What did you do for NYE?
We just stayed in and watched some Walking Dead, and of course watched the ball drop. Fun times!

  1. Katie, Happy new year to you! I feel exactly the same in some aspects, in terms of I do not know whats happening to my life in terms career /jobs and people my age are all settled with BIG houses,, and a BIGGER pay check when I am so behind in all that! I am still depressed and get those waves ! I hope 2016 is a BEST year for you!

  2. I love the new look to your blog! And may 2016 be even better for you and to you than 2015 was. Re: NYE - we did nothing, per tradition. I mean, we basically stayed in, watched a movie with the kids, played a board game or two, and made sure I stayed awake till 12:01 so I could register for the "cheap" price for the Indpls Monumental (FULL!). Happy New Year to you!

  3. ahhh - I'm so glad that you have let God give some JOY back in your life -even if He hasn't revealed all the answers of the direction of your path...

Like the look of your blog - the font is very easy to read. I hate when people do small print of black backgrounds... this looks nice
