5 Things Friday!

This is going to be one of the busiest weekends of my life...fer real. So, let's get right to it.
5 things from my week!

1. I haven't talked about my weight loss for awhile. I'm still on Medifast, but it's going very, very slow. I'm not sticking to it completely. It's such a low calorie plan, and with all of my exercise, it's hard. So, I usually eat more calories than I'm supposed to. But I try to keep them healthy calories. 12 lbs. down so far.

2. I didn't say I always keep it healthy though. Case in point. Sometimes you just need to hide some wine in a coffee cup, do some shopping and eat an Auntie Anne's pretzel with your best girlfriend. (Have you had one of those? Ridiculous!)
3. I've been going on lots of walk/runs with my baby. I feel like I'm learning something new, running with a stroller. It's not a running stroller, but I make it work. That is a crazy good workout, and I love it!

4. Last night I went to my stepson's ROTC awards program. I am so, so proud of Jonah. He's a sophomore, and will be going into the Marine's when he graduates.
This is my sweet boy. He is so loving and kind. On the outside he's all tough and gruff, but inside he's the sweetest boy ever.  He often tells me that I look really nice. He just melts my heart.

5. And finally... half marathon #22 tomorrow. I'm running the Kentucky Derby mini.
Tonight is my oldest stepson's prom. While he's at the prom, Jeremy and I, my mom and dad, and my sister and her husband are going out in their limo! (My brother and nephew are also seniors, going to the same prom)
 After that, I'm meeting some out of town friends at their hotel here in Louisville, and will be staying with them for the race tomorrow.
Then Saturday night Jonah is going to a prom with a friend. Then Sunday I'm going to a wedding. 2 Prom's, a race, and a wedding all in the same weekend. I already need a nap!

Looks like we're going to get rained out during the race. Fun times! At least it'll be warm. :)

  2. Wow. Your weekend makes me tired just hearing about it! Lots of wonderful memories to be made from such special events. The limo ride with your sister and parents sounds especially nice. :)

    Just one question. Did you actually hide wine in that coffee cup??!! That's awesome! LOL.

      Ummm...yes, I really did! We walked around drinking our 'coffee'. 😊

  3. It's better for slow weight loss...lets your body adjust without any loose skin developing. Be thankful for the progress you have made.

    Also...yep...doing Derby. Half #??!! LOL!! I haven't kept track. Maybe 16 or 17...Doing one next weekend too. The rain sucks, but you know...maybe it will make me run a bit faster.


    1. I've heard it's better if it's slower. Very thankful the scale is going in the right direction. It rained last year too, and I got one of my best times, so I hope you're right! Maybe I'll see ya out there!

  4. When it rains, it pours! (schedule-wise and race-weather-wise) I thought I was busy with the race, a cemetery tour (sounds odd, but that's what it is), and an auction. I guess if I came home after the race and sat on my bum, I'd be stiff and sore. Good to keep moving! I've never been in a limo so that sounds like fun! What else is the driver going to do while they wait around for the dance to be over? :) Have fun and hope we can meet up tomorrow! If not, good luck!!
