5 Things Friday!

I hope you guys had a great week! Here's 5 things from mine...

1. I went back to spin class, after not being able to go the past few weeks. It was great. The instructor, who I hadn't seen before, was tough. Just the way I like it. My legs were sore the next day, which doesn't even happen after my half marathons! I convinced a girl who I hadn't met yet, but we're Instagram friend's, to come with me, and she didn't even say she hated me after it was over, so that's a success!

 2. I got to spend some time with one of my beautiful sisters, and my sweet nephew. I absolutely adore each one of my 6 sisters. There is something so special about each one of them.
We literally sat at her kitchen table and cried for 30 minutes as we talked about orphans. Then she says something hilarious, and we forget all about the ache in our hearts, because we can't stop laughing.
Of course this boy makes everyone smile!

3. I had the homeless look going on!
It may not look too bad in the pic, but I wear my hair straightened 99.9% of the time, so this once when I let it go au natural, woah mamma, I felt like my hair was one giant frizzball. But it sure was a lot easier and took way less time than usual!

4. Ok, has anyone else lost a toenail? I've been running for 4 years, and that has never happened.  I thought I was one of the lucky one's. But, apparently not. This is the grossest thing to ever happen to me. Just keepin' it real...

5. This is the last time I will ever have to help childcare kiddos make Mothers Day presents. It's a hard thing for me to do. Ok, it's real hard. I love sharing her joy in doing this. But man, it sucks.

I actually don't have a race tomorrow, so I plan on going for a long run, and then watching the Derby.

Have a great weekend!!

  1. Omg, you do NOT have homeless hair, lol. Not even close.

I love how you enjoy your family so much. I'm glad you and your sister were able to have some quality time together. I'm sure one-on-one time can be difficult because there are so many of you all.

I'm glad this will be your last year helping kiddos with Mother's Day presents. I know it's a nice thing to do, but I'm glad you won't be having to go through the pain of it anymore. I'm sure it's hard. :(

Enjoy your run and the Derby tomorrow! Have a great weekend!

    1. If you saw my homeless hair in person, you would probably agree! Ha!
You're right, I don't get much alone time with my sisters, so it is really nice when I do! Every mothers day, I say this is the LAST year I will be childless. And I'm saying it again this year, :)
You have a great weekend too, April!

  2. We have the same hair. My hair is either curly from rollers, straight from straighteners or Frizzy like I put my hand in an electric plug.

I've lost a toe nail. It really intrigued me. It didn't hurt at all. I just kept mine covered with a band aid until it fell off - just popped right off... & then it just grew right back. It didn't seem to take any time really.

I feel ya girl... LOATHE Mother's Day. It just sucks. I'll be thinking of you & lifting a prayer you have a great day regardless.

  3. Ha, I didn't even realize I lost a pinky toe nail until I went to put polish on my toes last week and realized, hey, there's no toenail there. HA!

Thinking good thoughts for you this weekend.

  4. Thank you for not including a photo of the missing toenail! It hasn't happened to me but I'm sure it could happen. Does it hurt and then fall off? or does it just go on its way? either way ... icky!

I'm homeless-hair all the way. I prefer curly but the air down here mocks my attempts. Pretty much whatever it wants to do is what happens -- mind of its own!

Enjoy your run! I've had every intention to get out and run throughout this week and it hasn't happened. I plan on getting a run in tomorrow -- or maybe Sunday morning before church to give me the good endorphins I'll need to get through the day. Either that or I'll gorge myself on chocolate -- same thing.

I'll be thinking of you this weekend ...

  5. I have definitely lost a pinky nail before. Perks of being a dance major in college. There's this crazy thing called New Skin that you can put over it.. it's gross and stings, but it works!
