Proms, a huge burger and a wedding

I don't know if anyone else feels this way, but often around this time of year, I think "if I have to see one more prom picture on social media, I'm gonna scream."
But...then my stepsons went to prom, and now I get it. So here's my contribution.

Matthew's senior prom Friday night

L-R My nephew, my brother, and Matthew
Yes, my nephew and brother are super tall, and Matthew is short

While the boys were at prom, us parents went out in their limo!

We went to Mussel and burger bar. I very rarely eat burgers, but I'd heard this place has the best around, so I had to try it. I got the Argentinian burger. It's true, best burger I've ever had.
Great way to carb load!

Look at that thing! It almost doesn't look real.

After dinner, the limo dropped me off at the hotel I was staying at with some friends, for the race on Saturday. They were already in bed when I got there (party animals), so I quickly got ready and was asleep by 10:30. Which means I was totally rested for race morning. Yay!

I'll recap the race tomorrow.

After the race, I got home and helped Jonah get ready for his friend's prom. It's sooo much easier for guys to get ready then it is for girls, as you know.
He was ready in about 5 minutes!
I'm so proud of my cute boys!

Sunday we went to a gorgeous wedding, which Jeremy performed. He has now performed the wedding for this girl, and her sister. He's been their 'big brother' since they were just babies, so it was really special.

Her colors were silver and Tiffany blue. There were mints in the Tiffany boxes. Such a beautiful wedding.
And that, my friends, was my jam packed, non stop weekend.

Tell me about yours!!

  1. I so love those colors for a wedding. Classic.
Cant wait to hear about your race!
Yep - its why I take the grooms pictures first because they can change right back out of their tux & rest for awhile if they want. Once the bride is dresses, their dressed. Guys have it so easy.

  2. Don't worry - I enjoy looking at prom photos ... but then it makes me anxious for when I'll have to deal with this in 3 or 4 years. Looking forward to your race recap! I'm bummed we couldn't meet up after but hopefully we can another time. :)

  4. Love their wedding colors! Silvers and Grays are big this year mixed with a classic color. In fact the wedding I am doing next week is following that same trend!
Cute idea with the mints in the tiffany boxes!
So fun that you guys took the limo out for some fun while the kids were at the prom. I teach a youth Sunday group and it's tradition here that the girls wear their prom dresses to church the day after prom, and I loved seeing them. (I think a few even came in the same hair, LOL guess when you pay a lot to have it done, sleep carefully, LOL)
You raced over the weekend, YAY can't wait to hear about it!!!

  5. Haha! Your "party animals" reference to your friends made me laugh. I'm just like that. I crash early!

Is this your parents last time seeing one of their kids do prom? (Isn't your brother the youngest?)

The burger looked awesome, and very cool that Jeremy performed the wedding. Sounds like a perfect weekend. :-)

    1. I don't mind crashing early the night before a race, at all!
Yes, it's their last prom, last senior graduation, last kid! I'm sure they're relieved. 😜
