Running goals and some new workouts

My running goal for the month of August was 105 miles. I believe I'm going to end with 100 though. Which still makes me super happy.
When I got home from Chicago, I was sick for about a week and a half (head cold/sinus stuff), so that stopped me from running as much as I had planned on.

Saturday's run was 5 miles. I had been planning on 10, but I just couldn't get out of bed early enough. I got to the park around 8, and it was already miserably hot. I had to stop several times just to drink my water, wipe the sweat out of my eyes and try to breathe!

I've always said I would rather run in this heat than in the winter snow, but I think I may be changing my mind on that...

I ran by this awesome door on someone's fence. The owner must be a runner too!

Have you guys heard of  Beachbody on Demand? I just found out about it this weekend. You can stream BB videos, for around $12 a month. But you get a free 30 day trial to try it out.
I am SO excited about it. I have lots of workout dvd's, but I'm tired of them all, so this way I'll get to try some new ones! (Don't worry, I'm not a coach trying to sell anything.)

I think I'm going to start with Hammer and Chisel
This week my job search continues. I hope to hear back from some places I've already sent my resume to. This girl needs a job!

Thursday will be the highlight of my week. My little sister will be returning from Zimbabwe! She and her hubby went there 4 months ago. I can't wait to see her again.

Have a wonderful week!!

  1. I'm so impressed with your two months of 100+ mileage. I can only do that if I'm at the height of marathon training. Ohh, thanks for pointing out the Beach Body on demand. I might have to check it out!

  3. First great job on the monthly mileage! You make me realize I should track mine again, I haven't done that much in years.
Love the yellow door, that is just awesome!
Hope you do hear back from a job soon! I'm going to begin looking for a PT job in the evenings in my new town soon, so I'll get to join in your job hunting fun, LOL
But seriously, hope you find an awesome fun job that you'll love, because there is no point in working any other type of job, right!

  4. Great job on hitting 100 miles two months in a row! I had hopes of even beating last month's mileage (79.9) but I'll be lucky to break 70 with tonight's run ... and that's OK. :)

I do like that yellow door! I love seeing whimsical things in people's yards.

Never heard of BB on Demand but I might check it out for the 30 day trial :)

I do hope you hear back from your interviews and get positive news!
