Running lately and something I'm thinking about

My running goal for the month of July was 100 miles. I ran 103. So I decided to do 105 this month.
It will be harder to stick to once I get back home, but I will do it!

Last weekend when I was in WI, I got to run on the Eisenbahn Trail. One of the many reasons I love visiting my sister is being able to run there.

This is a 25 mile flat, mostly paved trail that is a former railroad corridor. It is beautiful. They have a marathon and half marathon on it every year.

But I don't want to do that. Instead I want to run to the end and back, 50 miles. In October. It'll be even prettier in the Fall, with all the leaves changing colors. Not a race, just do it on my own. (And getting my sisters to walk some of it too) Hmmm...can I run 50 miles? Or is that just crazy?
 Something I'm considering...

I ran 5 miles on Saturday, and then Sunday walked 3 miles with my twinnie.

Last night I went back to Cantigny Park to run for the last time. More beauty.
I don't know if I'll ever be back here again. I sure will miss it.

Yes, I cut my hair. A few months ago I never would've dreamed I would go from super long, to super short hair. But I love it!
Now I'm off to pack, heading back home tomorrow!

  1. I'm loving your shorter hair. It just looks so cute on you.
I love you keep pushing yourself with these goals. You're going to do it... but be prepared for Louisville humidity again. UGHHHH
50 miles? I dont put nothing past you girl!

  2. Wow! This is quite a goal to aim for! Would you run it continuously in one day? Is this what is considered an "ultra"? I'd love to hear more!

    April in Georgia

    1. Yes, all 50 miles at once. It would be an ultra. But not official, as I would just do it on my own. I don't know if I'll do it, I just think it would be fun! :)

  3. I just cut off my long hair too, and I love it. :) Good luck on the 50 miles, I can't wait to hear about it.

    1. It is very freeing, and SO much easier to take care of. Thanks Heather!

  4. Wow all those parks and trails are so gorgeous, I can see why you will miss them. You look in amazing shape by the way! And love the short hair. 50 miles sounds awesome but so hardcore. I am sure if you can do it!

    1. Thank you so much, Jess! I'm really liking the short hair. Xoxo

  5. 50 miles?? Definitely hard-core but with training and a support system lined up (hello bathroom breaks and water stops!), I'm sure you will crush it! Your hair looks great - I went from long to short last year and other than not being able to pull it back to run, I'm glad I did it. It's gotten to my shoulders again and I'll probably get it cut soon. :)
